" When Daydreaming Helps"

Daydreamer

Have you ever thought that daydreaming is not something that might waste your time. I bet most of people think that daydreaming is a waste of time. After all, Daydreaming is seen as frivolous, a waste of time. But have you considered daydreaming's positive effects?

Daydreaming is looked upon negatively because most people seen it as "non-doing" whereby daydreaming does not emphasizes productivity. Besides, human are used to be under constant pressure to do, achieve, produce, succeed.

But as for me , daydreaming can be something that is beneficial in many ways. Ironically, it can boost productivity. In fact, it is something that people do most all the time naturally. Did you know that psychologists estimate that we daydream for one-third to one-half of our waking hours, although a single daydream lasts only a few minutes. And At their best, daydreams allow you "a range of possibilities which, in the hard cold light of reality, aren't possible,".

Specially, daydreaming helps you:

Relax. Like meditation, daydreaming allows your mind to take a break, a mini-vacation in which to release tension and anxiety and "return" refreshed. It's also very useful for controlling anxiety and phobias. Say, for example, that you're afraid of flying, which you have to do for an upcoming trip. By mentally rehearsing the various steps involved -- driving to the airport, getting on the plane, taking off, etc. -- you'll be better able to handle the actual events. It also helps to practice deep breathing anytime a certain thought makes you tense.

Manage conflict. The same kind of organized daydreaming -- or visualization -- used to curb anxiety is also useful for personal conflicts.  As you review in your mind an argument you had with someone, you go back and imagine responding differently than you did. Try this a few times, responding differently each time, and you'll begin to figure out better ways of dealing with the person in the future.

Maintain relationships. Absence makes the heart grow fonder, especially among daydreamers. Happy couples tend to think about one another when they're apart, which has the effect of psychologically maintaining the relationship, says James Honeycutt, PhD, author of Imagined Interactions: Daydreaming about Communication. "We daydream about the people we love," Honeycutt tells WebMD. "We imagine sharing good news with them, along with our successes and failures. Unhappy couples daydream about arguments and ruminate about conflict while happy individuals think positively ahead."

Boost productivity. "Often I find that allowing myself a few minutes for daydreaming can help me to be more productive in the long run," says Cari Noga, a freelance writer in Traverse City, Mich. "For example, just the other day I had a lot to do around the house: laundry, dishes, cleaning, bathroom scrubbing. I tried throwing myself into the work, but I found myself getting distracted. So I sat on the couch and allowed myself 15 minutes of daydream time. I let my mind wander, and instead of thinking about things I had to do, I imagined things, places, people. When my 15 minutes were up, I was in a much better mood, my mind was clearer, and I really had the urge to get things done. And my house got cleaned!"

Cement your beliefs and values. When you daydream about scenarios in which you're trying to convince someone of something you believe in strongly, you are also in a sense getting to know yourself and what you stand for better.

Boost creativity and achieve goals. The beauty of daydreams is that nothing is impossible. "I used to daydream about seeing my book in print," says Jen Singer, author of 14 Hours 'Til Bedtime: A Stay-at-Home Mom's Life in 27 Funny Little Stories. "And now it is. I find that when I aim high while daydreaming, I end up working harder to make my dreams become realities. Lately I've been daydreaming about being on The Today Show or Ellen."

Olympic athletes and performers use this same kind of visualization, which has been shown to help their performance in the way that actual physical practice does.

Relieve boredom. People with monotonous jobs, like factory workers and security guards, often use daydreaming to keep their minds stimulated and to get them through the day.

All this is not to say that there aren't potential negatives to daydreaming. Obsessive thinking, for example, can interfere with day-to-day functioning in some cases. Likewise, lonely people can further isolate themselves if they spend a too much time ruminating about the past.

In general, though, we should nix the negative stereotypes and become, in the words of The Monkees, "daydream believers."

 Reviews

From my perspective, this is a sweet and romantic love film. Yet , it is not really suitable for those who are underage due to certain scenes in this movie. This film gets more sad towards the end when Radit had been beaten up by few bad guys at the streets along his way rushing to get to sick Jani. It had made me burst into tears. Overall, I think that this is a great film. Wish that you will enjoy it!

Guys Prefer Sports , Girls Prefer clothes

If we were to consider about the young people of, for example, fifty years ago, the statement would be undeniably true. In those days, sports was a predominantly male pursuit. The girl were considered fairer sex and they were more concerned with the looks, in fact, the preference for beautiful clothes.

Nowadays, this statement is no longer true. There are as many games for girls as there are for boys. With the exception of some games like rugby and football, girls participate in almost all that boys play. In athletics we se girls performing just as well as the boys, some even better. They jump, run, throw and generally enjoy the sporting events as much as the boys. In fact, some girls are aggressive and highly competitive. I have seen girls elbowing one another in basketball game, totally unmentionable words when angry and shouting themselves hoarse cheering the participants. So much for the myth of for saying that girls are weaker and not sports-loving. They definitely revel in sport, with some exceptions. Anyway we can say the same for some of the boys too. Not all of them love sports. This is proven because there are more male participate in clothing designs.

This female participation in sport has led to some previously unheard-of phenomena. For example, the female participants in some international sports meets may have to undergo a sex test. Imagine this, a girl has to prove that she is a girl before she can participate. I suppose the controlling sport bodies have no choice but to conduct such test. If we look at some female athletes today we would sympathise with the sport bodies. Some of these "girls" are more like men. It reflects on the extremes some countries go to just to produce medal-winning athletes. It is a kind of madness.

On the subject of clothes and fashion, we find that it is no longer a female domain. Boys love fancy clothes and the latest fashion just as much as girls. Departmental stores have sections devoted specially for the male. We have boys and men who are so label-conscious that they will not touch the "inferior" stuff. They could gladly spend hundreds of dollars for an in-style outfit just to impress their peers. Clothes has become a means to gauge the status and the acceptability of a person. Fade blue jeans are "in" with certain groups while outrageous "new-wave" fashion has gripped others. In the fifties it was the teddy-boys looks. Then the hippies took over. After that, the types of clothes and fashion have proliferated beyond imagination. Now it is impossible for an average person to keep up with every bit of development.

If we ask who the people responsible for such preoccupation with clothes are we can only point our fingers at the fashion designer and trend-setters. And who are these people who can 'sway the rest of the world? They are predominantly male. Designers, pop singers and other trend-setters are mostly male. In fact, the famous Boy George has been voted as one of the best-dressed woman. It goes to show that our values are undergoing drastic changes.

Apart from this increasing female indulgence in sport and male indulgence in clothes, it can be said that there are still some who subscribe to be old belief that boys prefer sport and girls prefer clothes. This belief is slowly being eroded away. The day will come when boys and girls will participate together in all kinds of pursuits without obvious preferences. Unisex saloons, women soccer, male models are modern development all pointing to the changing values of society.

HOW LIFE WOULD BE IF THE EARTH IS SURROUNDED BY ZOMBIES

Do you believe in zombies? I do. Zombies are typically a human being who is being controlled by something else. Stories of zombies originated in the west African spiritual belief system of voodoo. Which told of the people being controlled as labourers by a powerful wizard. It slipped through my mind, that how is it going to be if there were zombies around us. How life would be if we are surrounded by zombies? Well, through out this 21st centuries, there are many kinds of diseases. Diseases that are spread by zombies too are not possible to get. Anything could happen. As I imagine how it would be, our life will be completely in chaos.
The earth before the zombies took over, we went on our life as usual. Here is the picture, you would spend your weekends night perhaps with your loved ones. Probably went to the movies, or visiting your relatives. During the day, your father were watering the plants and your mother were planting in your garden while you were playing with your pet or your siblings. It is definitely a perfect picture but imagine if there were zombies. There were fire everywhere. Burned houses, buildings and hospitals.  You are going to spend your weekends in the car, traveling from one place to another. Hunting for zombies because if we didn’t kill it, it will kill us. We can’t rest until we are sure that there were no more zombies.
Apart from that, if we live in the world with zombies, there are no more normal life. There will be no normal college life. No busy Mondays where people were rushing to schools and work. No traffics but the road and highways are full with burned and crashed cars with blood stains all over the cars everywhere in the road .  Whereas , usually the library were full of books, computers and filled with students studying. But if the zombies around, the library were filled with tornned books, corpses and blood.
Zombies will not only invade us physically, but also mentally. As we discussed, people who survived would be more cautious in everything. Trustworthy is no longer exist in people relationships. People will tend to kill each other as well in order to have less competition in basic needs. Furthermore, money will be no longer necessary because money wouldn't be important you could just scavenge, make, or trade for what you need because any previously values will change from gold(todays paper and coin system is based on) to food, water, personal protection, and building supplies.
In nutshell, our world would be utterly different if there were zombies around. Zombies will change our life thoroughly. Therefore, we always to be prepared and cautious in everything.

IT'S TIME FOR ME TO FORGET ABOUT YOU

On April 8th 2008 , i was declared with someone named MUHD ZHAFRAN B.SUWELI. He is 22 years old and he was born on 31st December 1988 . He is from Johor Bahru and currently he staying in Kelana Jaya , Petaling Jaya .

After awhile chatting online , he asked me out and I agreed . So as like any other love story , we fell in love with each other after few months we've been friends . We were so much in love and since that our place is not so far , we always see each other . Its almost everyday .

We have been together as couple for Two years and four months . Unfortunately , its only for that long because we broke up recently on July 25th 2010 . I made the call . Since I got offered to further up my studies , i got so busy with everything . We argued about everything almost everyday. We argued so much until sometimes we can't even remember what fighting for . He couldn't understand what I have gone through and since that there no more understanding and compromise in our relationship . So I couldn't afford to hold it any longer . i decided to let him go .

Eventhough I was the one who made the call , I still love him and I miss him so bad . I have waited for him for three days to call and apologize. One day , I found out that he already had a new girlfriend on facebook .Her name is Puteri Nadia. I couldn't even bare to change my status from "in relationship" to "single" . He even deleted me from his friendlist . Gosh ! it's too soon for him to replace me .

Therefore , it is obvious that i have to forget about him and all those sweet moments we gone through together .
